More questions than answers
A conversation from Davos
Isn't it interesting that in a time when Generative AI can provide so many answers, people are asking more questions than ever?
For the March GIC* Update in IFIP Insights** I had a most engaging and insightful conversation with fellow GIC director Mark Mueller-Eberstein about his experience in Davos during the World Economic Forum earlier this year. A conversation that still resonates and that offered me more hope for the future than I've had in a long time.
More questions than answers, as the title of the Update reads:
What happens to the ICT skills gap, and the ICT profession, when demand shifts fundamentally?
What do people do when they are no longer tied to a paycheque?
What should education actually be preparing us for?
We didn't reach clear conclusions, and maybe that's the point. What we did find in our conversation was a positive sense of where we’re heading: bloom, not doom.
